The Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced Yuri Beloyvan, founder of the Korchma Taras Bulba restaurant chain to two years in a general regime colony, in a tax evasion case, Interfax reports.
The civil lawsuit of the Federal Tax Service against Beloyvan for 862 million rubles was submitted by the court to civil proceedings.
According to investigators, so-called night cashiers worked in restaurants, which removed the largest checks from the cash registers\' memory, thereby underestimating the revenue and taxable base. In addition, the restaurants were reluctant to accept bank cards.
A criminal case on tax evasion in Korchme was filed in 2016. The case on Beloyvan started in the summer of 2017. The court found him guilty of eight episodes of tax evasion on a large scale of 650 million rubles.
