FEDERAL TAX AGENCY
INFORMATION
The Federal Tax Agency (the FTS) of Russia has reduced the list of countries with which there is no exchange of tax information. There have been excluded the United Arab Emirates, Liechtenstein, Brazil, Monaco, Uganda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles, Belize, Isle of Man and Guernsey.
The FTS of Russia reviews this list annually. The aforementioned jurisdictions were excluded from it as a result of joining the international automatic exchange of information on the OECD Standard and the activation of such an exchange with the Russian Federation.
According to the law (clause 7 of article 25.13-1 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation), profits of controlled foreign companies are exempt from taxation if these organizations are located in countries that have entered into an international treaty with the Russian Federation on taxation issues and with which information is exchanged. Companies registered in the countries included in the above list are not exempt from taxation.
