More than $ 82 thousand smuggled by a Korean citizen to Novosibirsk
A criminal case was filed in the Ob City Court against a 55-year-old Korean citizen who smuggled cash into Russia. A man was detained in the customs control zone by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the Tolmachevo airport when checking passengers who arrived by the Beijing-Novosibirsk flight
As reported by Kommersant-Sibir, Senior Assistant of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Siberian Federal District Aygoz Ashimova, US dollars, Kazakhstan tenge, rubles, Hong Kong dollars, Chinese yuan and South Korean won were in his carry-on baggage. In dollar equivalent, the amount was $ 82 thousand. The passenger did not declare the transported banknotes, and this violated the law. It was chose to impose on him the restriction measure in the form of written undertaking not to leave the country. The court will consider the criminal case in the near future. The accused faces fines of up to 15 times of the amount of the illegally transferred sum or restriction of liberty for up to 4 years.
